Stabbing Reported Near King Square and Stokes Croft in Central Bristol
One of the many answers to “Why should a business look for a Bristol security guard company” can be found online, in print, on the television or on the radio: The news.
It seems that it’s almost every day that a new report of a violent crime, a robbery, a heist, or even a drug ring is published – and it certainly makes the world feel like a less secure place to live.
Bristol of course is no exception to this crime wave we’re seeing, and in fact according to an article published by Bristol Post on the 5th March 2014, Jamaica Street was cordoned off on the same evening by police – a street that sits between King Square and Stokes Croft, both areas within Central Bristol.
The reason? Well it never looks good when the police cordon off an area, and this incident appeared to be just as negative as it seemed. You see, according to reports from the article, witnesses say it was a stabbing that had occurred – and it certainly seems likely, considering numerous police cars both marked and unmarked quickly blocked off the road. One witness even reportedly described seeing a body at the scene with what appeared to be two stab wounds inflicted upon them!
Now, it’s unlikely that hiring a Bristol security guard company is ever going to put an end to street crime. After all, a Bristol security guard company will be hired specifically to look after a business, a property, a person or an event – security guards are not vigilante crime fighters!
But we honestly feel that if more businesses were tighter on hiring a Bristol security guard company to protect their interests, that stories like this would become far less frequent.
According to the article, many officers were reportedly seen at the scene of the crime, and had been going into and coming out of the flats nearby ever since first putting up the cordon to block off the area. In fact, it was reported in the article that, according to statements made to the press by witnesses, many of the police officers even appeared to be armed.
Nobody likes reading news like this, least of all us. And we strongly feel that in tightening security measures, both businesses and residents of areas in and around Bristol will be able to help make an impact on the level of crime (including violent crime).
